Set Up Asset Expiry Dates and Pressure Due Dates

Learn how to set up asset expiry dates and pressure due dates in FieldMagic.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Step 1

Open Settings, go to Asset Types, and click Add to create a new asset type.

  2. Step 2

Set the Default Expiry Period — for example, one day — and enable Prompt for Asset Expiries.

  3. Step 3

Add an attribute, set its type to Date, and label it "Pressure Due Date".

  4. Step 4

Toggle Required on to make the Pressure Due Date field mandatory.

  5. Step 5

Click the bell icon to turn on alert flagging for this attribute.

  6. Step 6

Save the asset type, then open the Assets module and click Add to create a new asset.

  7. Step 7

Enter the asset name, then select the customer, site, and asset type.

  8. Step 8

    Enter the asset's serial number.

  9. Step 9

Select the Pressure Due Date using the date picker.

  10. Step 10

Switch to the Others tab to confirm the Expiry Date auto-populates based on the default expiry period, then click Save.

  11. Step 11

Create a job and link the asset to it.

  12. Step 12

Check the Assets widget on the job — a red number badge shows how many assets need attention, and overdue dates are flagged in red.

  13. Step 13

Open the job in the FieldMagic mobile app.

  14. Step 14

Check the Assets option for a badge showing expiring assets, then open an asset to view both the Expiry Date and Pressure Due Date.
